KIDS IN MOTION GYMNASTICS CLUB TERMS AND CONDITIONS:



Terms And Conditions: Fees must be paid in advance of your child's class/camp. We will not discuss fees with children so please check your child in at the desk and settle your bill prior to the first day. All fees are non refundable. In exceptional circumstances we may issue a credit note. This will be decided on a case to case basis. It is the clubs policy that refunds are not provided for absences, delays or early dismissals by parent or guardian, scheduled holidays or other activities resulting in absenteeism. If you wish to cancel a class/camp you must offer 2 weeks notice and a credit may be offered for the balance. Requests for a refund for classes or bookings in the past are not facilitated. This includes classes a member attended, was excused or absent for.


Credit For A Singular Class

Club policy allows for account credit for a singular class missed of term training in these cases: Classes cancelled by the club and if the club is unable to run a class due to reasons that are out of our control such as national weather warnings, flooding, blocked access to the club, external damage due to weather .


Gym Rules for parents and gymnasts: These rules have been put in place to ensure Kids In Motion Gymnastics club is run efficiently within the safest environment possible for your child.


Credit Policy: It is the clubs policy that no credit is available for general absences including short illness and minor injury, transportation, delays, early dismissals by parent or guardian, scheduled holidays or other activities, personal and family engagements resulting in absenteeism. Members, please be advised that our overheads do not unfortunately reduce while you are absent and it would therefore not be sustainable for the club to discount or cancel your fees during such periods and as long as you wish to keep your space and return to your class. Each club members fees for each year are used for projections to ensure that the club is self sufficient and can operate.


Child Welfare And Protection Policy: In our club we have 2 Children's Officers: Lorraine Cronin and Chloe McHale please contact 085 165 2062 for support. The safety and welfare of children is everyone's responsibility, the best interests of the child should be paramount, children have a right to be heard, listened to and taken seriously. Taking account of their age and understanding, they should be consulted and involved in all matters and decisions that may affect their lives. Parents and guardians have a right to respect, and should be consulted and involved in matters that concern their family. A proper balance must be struck between protecting children and respecting the rights and needs of parents ad guardians and families. Where their is conflict, the children's welfare must come first. Child protection is a multi agency, multidisciplinary activity. Agencies and professionals must work together in the interest of children. Children's officers should review current policies in relation to young people, check that all activities are safe and fun, and inform adults of how to deal with any concerns that may arise in relation to the protection of young people. Club Children's officers should be child centered in focus and have as the primary aim the establishment of a child centered ethos within the club. The company requires all coaches employees to be Garda Vetted through the National Vetting Bureau. Company's policy on vetting requires re vetting at least 2-3 years and will be organized by the operations manager.

Awareness: The prevention and detection of child abuse depends on the collaborative effort of everyone concerned. The following factors are central to effective child protection in sport: Awareness of the behavioral and physical indicators of various forms of abuse, knowledge of the appropriate response and action to be taken where abuse is revealed or suspected, vigilance, and avoidance of all situations conductive to risk, open, trusting and co operative relationships within the club/organization, and with parents and guardians and others concerned with children's progress or welfare.


Kids In Motion Statement and Goal: Kids In Motion Gymnastics Club is committed to teaching gymnastics to all levels and abilities in a safe and fun environment. We want all our gymnasts to leave their classes with a big smile on their face and a sense of achievement.


Who To Contact: The role of the children's officers: The appointment of the children's officers in sports clubs/organisations is an essential element in the creation of a quality atmosphere. They act as a resource with regard to children's issues.

You should always inform the Designated Liasson Person of the club or Tusla when you have reasonable grounds for concern that a child may have been, is being, or is at risk of being abused or neglected. If you ignore what may be symptoms of abuse, it could result in ongoing harm to the child. It is not necessary for you to prove that abuse has occurred to report a concern to the Designated Liaison Person of the club or Tusla. All that is required is that you have reasonable grounds for concern. It is the role of the Designated Liaison Person of the club or Tusla`s role to assess concerns that are reported to it. If you report a concern, you can be assured that your information will be carefully considered with any other information available ad a child protection assessment will be carried out where sufficient risk is identified. Reasonable grounds for a child protection or welfare concern include: Evidence, for example an injury or behavior, that is consistent with abuse and is unlikely to have been caused in any other way, any concern about possible sexual abuse, consistent signs that a child is suffering from emotional or physical neglect, a child saying or indicating by other means that he or she has been abused, admission or indication by an adult or a child of any alleged abuse they committed, an account from a person who saw the child being abused, the guiding principles on reporting child abuse or neglect may be summarized as follows, the safety and wellbeing of the child must take priority over concerns about adults against whom an allegation may be made and reports of concerns should be made without delay to the Designated Liaison Person of the Club or Tusla.


Purpose Of This Complaints Procedure: To provide a fair, consistent and equitable mechanism for processing complaints against coaches. To do so in a manner that affords all concerned full rights in accordance with natural justice. To outline the procedures, which should be followed by all- Managing Director, Operations Manager, Site Manager, coaches, parents and students and or their representatives- in the event of complaints being made against coaches.


Parents: Arrive in time, it is particularly upsetting for the younger children to arrive after all the others have started. Please ensure you are punctual collecting your child as coaches will be teaching the next class. Only gymnasts and coaches are permitted on the gym floor. Please ensure that all children in your care (excluding gymnasts) are fully supervised and kept out of the gym at all times. Our coaches wish to maximise coaching time with their gymnasts, if you wish to speak to us please send us an email with your queries and we will get back to asap or please leave your queries with Aaron at the desk. Please do not drop off your child or any other child early to watch the classes unattended. The gym club cannot be responsible for these children until their own class has begun. If your gymnast is expected to be away for more than 2 weeks at a time please inform a coach. Please inform a coach about any change of circumstance ie: medical, change of address and in particular change of phone number.


Gymnasts: No jewellery what so ever, including ear studs or body piercings at any time during training. This consists of a safety hazard. Please wear appropriate clothes to classes and no fizzy drinks or food in the gym.


Gymnasts Code Of Conduct: Gymnasts should listen and respect the decision of coaches, Gymnasts should arrive 5 minutes before the start of class, but remain quite and respectful to the class that is still in progress. No rough, dangerous, or violent play, including bullying and inappropriate behavior, gymnasts must wear suitable clothing to class. No gymnasts will be permitted to train unless they are wearing the correct clothes. (no skirts, jeans or any unsuitable clothing is permitted.) When glasses are worn ensure they are tightly fastened around the head. No jewellery, necklaces rings or watches are permitted when in class. Use of equipment is strictly prohibited without the proper supervision of a qualified Gymnastics coach. All equipment must be returned to its original place by the user after use. Gymnasts should never engage in activity without supervision. Any faults in the equipment should be reported immediately to a coach. No shoes are permitted on the gym floor. Grooming is important, ensuring nails are kept short enough to prevent interference with gripping or footing, as well as self inflicted injuries. Hair should be securely tied to prevent entanglement and to prevent obscuring sight when engage in activity. No smoking or alcohol allowed. Anybody appearing to be under the influence will be immediately expelled. No shouting, swearing or rude language. No gum, sweets, food or drink allowed in the gym floor area. The use of mobile phones is not permitted during class and should be turned off until the end of class. Gymnasts should report to the coach anything that will compromise their ability to perform. Gymnasts should approach the children's officer/designated person with any questions or concerns they may have. Gymnasts should not tell lies or spread roomers about adults or other children. Gymnasts should not keep secrets about any person who may have caused them harm. Inability or refusal to follow these and other coach directions and rules MAY result in immediate exclusion from the gym.


Responsibility: Gymnasts and other activities offered at Kids In Motion Gymnastics Club may involve a certain element of risk, which may result in bodily injury to the participant. Gymnastics also requires the coach to perform some manual spotting which involves direct physical contact which is designed to assist the participant in the safe performance of the program skills. Coaches are not responsible for the children before and after classes, please make sure that your child is being dropped off and picked up in time.


Kids In Motion Privacy Policy: We respect the privacy of those who visit our website and those who provide personal information. Visitors may decide to send an email via the site in which may be included personally identifying information. Personally identifiable information is collected in the quick contact form. We will use this information to respond to your request and to contact you about our service should this applicable.

Code Of Conduct For Gymnasts: Kids In Motion Gymnastics Club recognizes the important role that young people play in our organization. Every young gymnast should be encouraged to realize that they also have responsibilities to treat others with fairness and respect. A key element in our coach-gymnast relationship is the development of independence. Gymnasts are encouraged to accept responsibility for their own behavior and performance in training and in their social life.


Young Gymnasts Should Undertake To: Abide by the clubs rules, participate fairly and to do their best and enjoy themselves, represent themselves, their family and Club with pride and dignity, respect each other, improve and develop their skills, adhere to proper standards of behavior and approach the Club Children's Officer with any questions or concerns you may have.


Young Gymnasts Should Not: Use abusive language, shout or argue with a group mate or a member of staff, spread roomers or tell lies about adults or other gymnasts, bully or use bullying tactics to isolate another young person or member of staff, take banned substances, harm team members, opponents or their property and steal or show deliberate disrespect for people or property.


Young People Are Entitled To: Be safe and to feel safe, be happy, have fun and experience a sense of enjoyment and fulfilment, be treated with respect and dignity, comment and make suggestions in a constructive manner, be afforded appropriate confidentiality, make a complaint appropriately and be listened to, be believed, get help against bullies, be able to say no and to protect their own bodies.
